Still Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Review and Swatches and Demo

Finally Friday again. It was a super stressful week, and I have a busy weekend ahead, including a bridal shower (it’s so crazy to me to think that I am old enough to be going to my friends’ bridal showers).

Anyway, let’s talk about a product that really packs a punch- the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. The two that I’m reviewing are sample sizes that I received in Birchboxes. They are both very bright and very beautiful.

The two colors that I have here are Beso (the red) and Bella (the hot pink).

Here are the two colors swatched on my hand. As you can see, they are very full-coverage, with impressive color payoff. They look a little shiny here, but that’s because they hadn’t set yet. They are completely matte within a few minutes.

The applicator is a very interesting shape. I like it because I can easily do apply the product to my cupid’s bow, but I run into trouble with my bottom lip. It’s just hard to line your lips very accurately (minus the cupid’s bow) with this shape applicator. With bright colors like these, where it is obvious when you color outside of the lines, it’s even more difficult.

The other problem that i have is that there is too much product on the applicator. I end up wiping it off on the tube, because it is way, way too much. If I don’t do that, there is too much to apply and it gets everywhere.

Here’s what they look like on the lips. SO PRETTY; I LOVE THE PINK. To me, it makes my lips quite dry and, to be honest, it feels fairly drying. When I finally take the off, my lips are quite dry and I”m in serious need of lip balm.

I also find that this fades quite strangely after eating. It is long-wearing; it doesn’t come off when drinking and it passes the “kiss test.” However, after eating, there are bits of this product that clump up and look really weird, uneven, and flakey.

Overall, they are okay. I’m not a fan of the drying quality of them, but they sure are pretty. The applicator needs work but with more practice, I think it will be okay. I will continue to reach for them for short-term wear, but, for me personally, I need something more moisturizing if I’m going to wear it all day.

Have you tried these? What are your thoughts?

I bought these myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
