Hi everyone. Happy (ugh) Monday. Today was the longest day ever. It feels like the middle of the week, not like I am just coming off of the weekend. As a side note: it’s SO HOT here. It’s so miserable. I didn’t even take a cardigan to work with me today because I valued the cold so much haha. 🙂
Anyway, today I’m sharing what I got in my July Birchbox.
The box this month is quite crazy. I am all for keeping the cute boxes, but this is not one of them (to me). I’m sure it will fit some people’s style, but not mine. It’s a bit too crazy for what I have going on.
Anyway, the first thing that I got is this Jouer Daily Clarifying Treatment Oil. This is a facial oil that is supposed to have a bunch of different benefits. One of them is hydration and my skin has been so dry lately that I am actually pretty excited to try this out. I might actually give it a try tonight, I think. The value of this sample is $4.80, which is a pretty good start! 🙂
Next up is this Cartier perfume called Goutte de Rose (taste of rose, in English). I have to say that I wasn’t at all excited about this, and I was even less excited. It smells like a powdery rose which is not at all what I wear. I feel like it is something that better fits my mom’s style. However, when the scent dried, there was a little bit of sweetness that came through and the powdery smell faded a bit. I did like it a bit more when it dried, but I still would pass this one along to my mom. The value of this perfume sample is $1.98.
Next up is this Key West Aloe Save a Tan. It is an 80% aloe moisturizer for when you’ve been in the sun all day. I really wanted to try it out this weekend, but all of the beaches were packed so we ended up changing our minds and playing Monopoly inside all day. Needless to say, I didn’t need to use this, so I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. When I do try it, I will let you know what I think. It looks like something that will very beneficial to me. 🙂 The value of this sample is $2.08.
Next up is the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer. I did spray this in my hair and I found that it left it feeling pretty nice, but nothing special. It is meant to protect hair from heat and UV rays, but I didn’t end up blow drying my hair or going in the sun, so I can’t yet tell you how that is. I will say that the bottle is really nice and mists very nicely into the hair. I’m pretty excited to have something from Bumble and Bumble; I don’t think I’ve ever owned something from them before. The value of this sample is $3.18.
Last but not least is the sample that I picked: the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Bella. This was a weird month where they told us that everyone would be getting this product (I already have it in a red color), so I decided to pick a color since I didn’t want to end up with two of the same. I think this color is really pretty, and I’m really excited to try it out properly. I am planning a full review of this product, coming soon. The value of this sample was quite good at $6.67.
So there you have it: my July Birchbox. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it, but I don’t think it is anything extraordinary. There have definitely been other boxes that have been more exciting to me. This one wasn’t bad, though. I am looking forward to playing around with the lipstick, the face oil, and the hair primer. The overall value of this box was $18.71, which is low considering previous boxes. It is still valued higher than I paid for it, so I can’t complain too much. 🙂
Do you get a Birchbox every month? What came in this month’s box for you?
I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
