NOTD: OPI Alpine Snow

It’s so surprising to me that I haven’t done a review on this polish as I have had it for a quite a while and wear it fairly often. Better late than never I guess, though, right?

Anyway, today I’m reviewing the polish shown below, the white one: OPI Alpine Snow.

One thing that I have to note about this polish is that I have found that white polishes are very “controversial.” I wore this and one of my guy friends was said something along the lines of “but why would you paint your nails white?” People do comment on them a lot, but it isn’t always positive. More of a “huh… that’s interesting” type of observation.

Anyway, let’s get on to this particular formulation of a white polish. I need to start out by saying that it is a little difficult to apply. I find that I need three fairly thick coats in order to reach full opacity. It does dry quite quickly, but almost a little too quickly… like to the point that I can’t spend very much time on each nail or it will begin to move around and gloop up.

The finish isn’t exceptionally shiny, but it isn’t matte. It is definitely on the shinier side but don’t expect a high gloss finish with this one if you don’t use a top coat.

In terms of wear, it’s pretty standard. As you can see, I had been wearing with Barry M’s Blue Grape (the blue one). They wore off at the same rate.

Overall, this is the best white nail polish I have tried so far. (Side Note: I really want to try the Nails, Inc. The New Whites collection). It is a little gloopy but not the point where it is unusable. I do really, really like white nail polish and will continue to use it. I may even purchase another when it runs out, unless I can find something I like better.

Give it a try.

What fun nail polish colors have you been using lately? 🙂

I am not getting paid for this post. All opinions are my own. I bought this polish myself.
