Happy Wednesday everyone. Guess what? Tomorrow is Friday… well not technically, but for me it is. I don’t have to work on Friday, which makes me SO happy. So, this week’s Thursday is my Friday.
Anyway, speaking of work, let’s talk about this lip gloss that I have been wearing to work quite a lot in these past few weeks. For the most part, my office is pretty relaxed with the dress code, so it isn’t like I couldn’t wear a brighter lip. But, for whatever reason (probably they go with everything), I have been wearing more neutral colors. Anyway, let me talk about this lip gloss: the Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Gloss in number 239, Spring Splendor.
This is a beautiful package; I am definitely a fan of the way it looks in the tube. The wand is a standard doe foot applicator. That is one aspect of the gloss that I definitely feel could be approved upon. It doesn’t quite apply enough gloss to my lips. I get enough for my bottom lip and then need to go back for more. It really isn’t that big of a deal, but I want to give you all of the details. 🙂
I absolutely love the color of this gloss. It is a beautiful mauve-y pink with just a little bit of silver shimmer in it. It is very classy and will go with absolutely everything.
In terms of the formula, it is pretty nice. However, I will say that if you don’t like thick lip glosses, stay away from this one. Be aware that by thick, I do not mean gloopy. It isn’t sticky and it doesn’t form globs on my lips, but it is does feel thick and heavy when it is on. I personally don’t mind that feeling, as it does make my lips feel extra hydrated, but it is definitely something to be aware of.
The lasting power is pretty good, probably because of the thickness that it has. It lasts a few good hours on my lips if I’m not eating or drinking. I can go to a few meetings in a row and be confident that it is still on my lips.
As you can see from the swatch above, the lipgloss isn’t very pigmented. But that isn’t a bad thing. I actually like that it doesn’t give too much color to my lips. It makes it easy to apply at my desk, where I don’t have a mirror. Something that you can’t really tell in this picture though, is that it isn’t very glossy. Yes, it is a gloss, but my lips don’t look super shiny, but shiny enough. I am a fan of the finish, but if you are looking for ultra glossy lip glosses, this one will not give it to you.
Here is what the lip gloss looks like on my lips. As you can see, there isn’t too much pigmentation or gloss, but my lips still look alive and shiny.
So there you go. I hope you liked this review. If there is anything that I left out, please do let me know. Have a wonderful Wednesday, and I’ll talk to you all tomorrow.
I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
Why am I not surprised Burts Bees has awesome lip glosses. I love their moisturizer/cleansers. I love a nuetral lip gloss. I’ll have to try these one day!
I have never tried their moisturizers or their cleansers. I think I may have to give them a try! But yes, definitely try these! 🙂
