NOTD: Julep Carolyn

Hey guys, today I’m doing an NOTD. I don’t do these as often as I should, but since this is a brand new polish, one that I even featured in my May Julep Maven post, I figured it would be a good one to feature

This is a beautiful color, a peachy-orange. It definitely as a bit of a coral vibe going, and it is bright, but not overly bright. It is a really pretty spring/summer color. And, it has really great shine.

The wear time is pretty standard with this polish. It lasted through a night at work with only a little chipping. It doesn’t have fantastic wear time, but I would say that it is pretty standard.

Above is a picture of the polish after two coats. Maybe I’m just picky, but I expect that all of my polishes will apply opaquely and completely with only two coats. I don’t have a lot of time to sit around and mess with my nails. As you can see, though, two coats left the nails pretty darn streaky. It looked even worse in real life. Even after an additional coat, I still saw some streakiness in my nails. That is the thing that really frustrates me about this polish. If it would just apply evenly, it would probably make the list of my favorite polishes. The formula just isn’t up to snuff.

Overall, I like the polish. I won’t be purchasing it again, but it isn’t one that I’m never going to wear again. I like the color a lot, I just wish the application was better.

What are your current favorite polishes?

I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
