One of the most signature parts of my everyday eye makeup is my eyeliner. I absolutely love eyeliner and the way I wear it has changed so much over the past few years. I used to line my inner rim with purple (yes, purple) everyday, then I switched to black, then I started lining my top and bottom lashlines with black. Then, after I graduated high school, I discovered the glory of a winged eyeliner look and learned to cherish the simpleness of lining just the top lash line. In order to achieve these looks, I need a good eyeliner, so I definitely hold them to high standards.
Therefore, when I received this one in a Julep box a while ago, I was a bit skeptical. Would it be good? Would it work on my sensitive eyes? Could I get a good winged look out of it?
This is a standard pencil, which is not generally my go-to, especially for winged liner. I definitely prefer using a gel with the Real Techniques Fine Liner brush, but I decided to try this out anyway.
When I originally swatched this product on my hand, I found it to be very creamy and black, definitely what I am looking for in an eyeliner. There was no tugging when I swatched it, which is good for my sensitive eyes. Extra tugging and pulling does not help at all.
Above, you can see the winged eyeliner look I got with this pencil. And, I don’t know about you, I think it looks pretty good. The pencil actually allows for a very easy application. I can get close to the lashline, but I can build it up at the outer edge to get the shape of the wing that I desire. Basically, I was really impressed. It wasn’t any more difficult to achieve this look with this pencil than with my gel eyeliner and brush.
In terms of wear, I was so impressed. It lasts all day without any fallout or smudging. I have been wearing this for a few weeks and I haven’t had any instances where there was eyeliner fallout.
To make this eyeliner even better, it does not irritate my eyes at all. I always have to be careful with trying new products, but I didn’t have any negative effects from this.
Needless to say, I am very impressed with this eyeliner. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an intense, stay-all-day liner in pencil form. It is so great.
To buy it, you need to get it through Julep’s website. While Sephora stocks Julep’s nail products, it does not carry the makeup items. Here is a link to the product- definitely try it out. It is $16.00, but if you are a Maven, you can get it for $12.80. If you want to be a Maven and aren’t signed up yet, you can use my referral link: click me!

I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post. No affiliate links, although I do receive a perk from the company if you sign up to Julep using my referral link.
