Happy Monday everyone (is it okay to even say that?!)! Mondays tend to be the most stressful days for me, so I’m hoping that today is a bit better. I had a pretty relaxed weekend. I’ve been picking up a few extra shifts in the dining hall so that I will have a decent amount of money in my bank account once I graduate (coming so soon!!!). How was your weekend?
Today I’m talking about a cult product: Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm. I’ve seen a ton of Youtubers talk about this lip balm, and I decided that I needed to try it out. Keep reading to see my opinions!
The first thing I have to say is that I don’t understand why this is called “Reve de Miel.” It doesn’t really smell like honey at all. It is a sweet scent, but nothing that resembles honey in my opinion.
Let’s talk about how well it works, though. I find that you really do not need a whole lot of this product. You just need to get a little bit on your finger and it will melt into your lips and spread over them quite well. It is quite a thick formula, so rubbing it in can be a bit difficult.
Once on the lips, the lip balm feels quite thick and a bit sticky. There is also a weird dryness about it that makes me want to lick my lips. I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of this quality. However, I do find that it moisturizes quite well. Do I think it is as groundbreaking as other bloggers and bloggers? No. But I do think it is effective.
This is quite an expensive lip balm, so if you have the money to splurge on it, why not? But, if you are looking for a good drugstore alternative, I would recommend the Soft Lips Cube. I think that it is as effective if not more effective (plus it doesn’t make my lips feel dry at all while I’m wearing it).
Overall, it’s not bad. I will definitely finish it, but I’m not sure that I will repurchase it.
As a side note, if you do have this product, make sure your hands are clean before you get into the pot. If they aren’t, you will have a lot of bacteria growing in the product.
What are your favorite lip balms?
I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
