Hey everyone, I know I don’t usually post on Saturdays, but I am making up for the fact that I didn’t post on Monday this week. I hope you don’t mind. Anyway, let’s talk about something that is usually kind of boring- face wash. Today, I’m reviewing one from Origins, and is a favorite among so many people: the Frothy Face Wash.
I have to say that this cleanser lives up to the reputation of facial cleansers- it’s a bit boring. The most interesting factor of this cleanser is its foaming, or “frothy,” abilities. However, I have to say that I get little to no lather when I wash my face in the sink in the morning. I usually don’t wash my face in the morning, but when I have, I have noticed that it doesn’t really get frothy. However, when I use it at night in the shower, it gets nice and frothy and feels really nice on the skin.
It smells very fresh, with a slight mint-y undertone. However, on the whole, the fragrance is not overwhelming. I think that it would probably work for someone with sensitive skin (not super sensitive). It feels quite nice, too. As you massage it in, it tingles just a little bit, and leaves you feeling like your skin is very clean.
But let’s talk about the most important quality- the effectiveness. I have to say that I am not that impressed. I just don’t feel that it is doing anything special for my face. That isn’t a bad thing; my skin feels clean, not overly dry but not moisturized. However, because this cleanser is a high-end one, I have much higher expectations for it. If I’m going to spend more money on something, it should work better than the drugstore equivalent, and this one really doesn’t in my opinion. That doesn’t mean that it is bad, it just means that there are less expensive products that do the same thing.
Overall, I like it but I don’t love it. For the price, I probably wouldn’t purchase another full-sized version. I like that it gets nice and frothy when I use it in the shower, and I enjoy the scent.
As a side note, I’ve been loving Origins products. What are your favorites?
I’m not getting paid for this post. All opinions are my own. This product was a birthday gift that I received from a friend, but she purchased it with her own money. 🙂
