It has been absolutely ages since I have posted about Birchbox, but I haven’t cancelled my subscription. I got my box yesterday, and I wanted to share its contents. I was surprised when I picked it up, because it was significantly heavier than other Birchboxes I have received in the past few months. Needless to say, I was very excited to open it up.
When I opened the package, I noticed the incredibly adorable box. I have to say that this is probably my favorite that I have received. I always appreciate the non-brown boxes, but they aren’t always decorated in a way that I actually like. This one, however, I really like. There are a bunch of quote boxes, and in one of them (you can’t see it in the picture), it says “You’re my favorite.” Very cute.
I tend to hold on to these boxes to use for storage/organization/moving purposes. Eventually, at the end of the school year, I’m going to have to toss a bunch of them, but this is one that I will be saving, for sure. Anyway, on to the products!
The first thing I received is the Davines Replumping Superactive spray. It is a really nice size, and I love that it helps to make hair look thick. Also included in the box were foil samples of the shampoo and conditioner from the same line. These didn’t appear on my card within the box, but they are on the box page on the Birchbox website, so I guess they are considering these as “extras” this much. You won’t hear me complain. I don’t mind getting a few foils as an extra.
I will definitely try this product out, but I have to say that there is one thing that I am not really a fan of: the scent. I opened the spray just to see if it smelled good, and I discovered that it isn’t exactly my style. It smells almost exactly like the Old Spice cologne that my dad uses. It’s definitely not my favorite scent, but if it doesn’t linger in my hair when I use it, it shouldn’t be a problem. Look for a review in the coming months here.
Next, I received a body lotion, an Intensive Nurturing Body Balm, to be exact. This is from Perlier, a brand I have never heard of. According to the card in the box, it is an Italian skincare brand. The scent is in Shea Lavender, but there was a seal over the top so I didn’t get the chance to smell the product. I don’t want to open the seal until I’m ready to use it, but I will let you know how I get on with it in a coming post. 🙂
Next is the Paula’s Choice Clinical KP Treatment Cloths. I’m actually very intrigued to see how well these work. KP (keratosis pilaris) are those red bumps that appear on the upper arms. I do believe that some people get it on their legs, as well. I have them on my arms. Over the years, they have become less noticeable, but I can still see them. I’ll give these wipes a try and see if they do anything. There are 10 wipes in this little package, which is really great.
I was so excited when I saw this. I just bought a curling iron from this brand, Amika, and I have a couple of samples of their dry shampoo. I have been dying to try out more from them, so I was so happy to see the Nourishing Mask. I love hair masks, and will definitely be giving this one a go. I may actually start using it tonight, despite the fact that I have a ton of other hair products that I should use up first. 😀
Last but not least is this itty-bitty Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain. The color is called Heartthrob, and in the package, it looks quite red. I don’t really need any more red lip sticks or lip stains, as I don’t wear it very often, and I have quite a few. However, check out the swatch below.
I know that the swatch is a little out of focus, but it definitely gives you the sense of the color. It is a beautiful strawberry color! I am absolutely in love with it. It is not as bold as it seems in the tube, which is definitely okay with me in this case. I’m really looking forward to wearing this around and seeing how it wears. Plus, the little size is too cute.
Overall, this was a fantastic box. I’m excited about everything in it, and I can’t wait to try out the products. I am very impressed this month, and I’m already looking forward to next month!
What did you get in your February Birchbox? Don’t forget that you can tweet me a picture @sarasbeautyblog.
I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
