NOTD: Color Club Breakfast At…

I took this picture ages ago! I can’t believe I haven’t talked about this nail polish yet. Oh well. Better late than never.

I got this polish a few months ago in a Birchbox and wore it right away. I love these blue-ish green-ish colors, and the color of this one was gorgeous. However, it was a bit disappointing. I don’t have the nicest nails. They tend to peel and break, but most polishes cover that up. This one, however, just accentuated it. Plus, the formula was really streaky. The metallic nature of the polish made the formula extremely sensitive to anything other than smoothness. The wear time was standard, but the formula really disappointed me.

I wouldn’t recommend this polish, simply because of the formula. The color is absolutely gorgeous, but if you have less-than-perfect nails, this polish will accentuate that.

What is your favorite Color Club polish? Do you even like the brand? Let me know in the comments!

I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.

  1. I was bummed when I didn’t get one of these polishes in my BB. I ended up buying the set with points and although the colors or gorgeous and you said the quality of the polishes are kind of poor. I found them to be a bit thick & chalky looking, and they do accentuate any ridges in my nails. I really sanded & buffed my nails down to make them as smooth as possible for my next application and that helped a lot but this isn’t a polish I’d recommend or buy again. The colors are so pretty but not worth it, just doesn’t go on smoothly.

Really? You didn’t get one. They usually bombard people with these Color Club polishes! I think I only ever got one other nail polish brand in a box before!

How do you like buffing your nails? Does it take a long time? I’ve been wanting to try it, but I’ve been a little timid.

      • I only buff them when I’m either really bored and watching a lot of Netflix orrrrrr my nails are just jacked up and need some help. I have a cheap buffer from a drugstore and it works just fine. I’ve also, this is probably a huge no-no, used a cheap nail file and gone over the tops of my nails with it to smooth them and they look weird but nice after polish is on.

Hmm. I really should take better care of my nails. I do next to nothing to keep them looking nice.

      • Mine just get bad and then I fix them up, it’s hard with work and stuff like that. I try to just hide all the flaws with nail polish which just makes my nails thinner! don’t worry about it=)

      • Sara says:

Hahahaha that’s exactly how I feel.

      • Oh and no, I didn’t get one, major bummer since I bought them and they’re just so-so you know. Oh well.

On the birchbox sneak peak, the ladies pointed out the intention was for these colors to evoke a retro vibe. They did ,but not in a good way. There are prettier blues and greens fron Essie with a better formula

    • Sara says:

Yeah, I think I remember that. I would have to agree that there are definitely better formulas. I personally hate Essie; it doesn’t work for me, but OPI has a ton of colors and I’m sure it’d be possible to find one similar to this.
