I’m so sorry, guys. I know I suck. There was a disaster when moving into my apartment which pretty much meant I couldn’t move in when I was supposed to and then I went home last weekend… it’s just a mess. But, I should be able to get on a schedule now.
Anyway, today I’m going to be sharing my June 2014 Birchbox with you. I hope you enjoy!
The first thing I got was the Benefit They’re Real mascara. I’m pretty to happy to get this, even though I already have one from Sephora. I haven’t tried it yet, but if it is as good as everyone says, I’m pretty sure that I’ll be happy I have this backup! The value of this sample is $8.12.
I am in LOVE with this perfume from Catherine Malandrino. It is a fruity-floral which are my favorites. It isn’t too overpowering and it doesn’t give me a headache. The thing is…. it’s SO expensive. A 3.4 ounce bottle is $110. Yikes. I like it, but not enough to shell out that kind of money for it. I will be a little sad when the sample is gone though. Assuming the size of this sample is the standard .05 ounces, the value is $1.62.
Next up is this Laqa & Co Lip Lube (that name -_-). I would be pretty excited about this except for the color (see swatch below). Purple is not something I would typically go for at all. I did decide to try it on and it just made me look like I was very, very cold. I’m guessing that this comes from being so fair-skinned. If you can rock purple, more power to you. But I won’t be. It’s a nice formula though, and it smells like mint. I couldn’t find a size on this, but I decided to assume that it is half of the full size, making the value $9.00.
The top swatch is one swipe, the bottom is after it had been built up a bit. Pass.
Next up, I got a body wash. It’s the Antica Farmacista Bath & Shower Wash. I have to say that I do like getting these types of samples. I usually don’t like body wash enough to buy it (I’m loyal to Bath & Body Works), but it’s nice to have these travel sizes. I did use this once though, and it’s nice. I would like it to foam up a bit more, but it’s nice. The scent is okay, too. It isn’t very strong, and it’s different from what I would normally choose. I really don’t know how to describe it… sorry. 🙂 The value of this (assuming it is 1oz like most samples) is $2.50.
Last but not least, my favorite of everything I got (yep, even more than the perfume). This is the Vitamin C Antioxidant Creme from The Aloe Source. I don’t want to spoil anything because I have a full review of this coming soon, but I love this stuff. I’ve been having some serious dry issues and this has solved everything. I’m very pleased. It’s a pretty expensive product though. This small sample is $10.00. I love it though and am strongly considering purchasing a full size.
That brings the total of this month’s Birchbox to $31.24, which is fantastic, especially considering how low the value has been in the past. I am very excited about everything (except the lip crayon.. but only because of the color)! Great job Birchbox! Let me know what you got in yours this month, and if you thought it was worth it!
I bought everything myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
