Keims Hair Care Peppermint & Macadamia Cleanshine Energizing Shampoo Review

Hey guys! So, today, let’s chat about a sample I received in my March Birchbox. I was really intrigued by this. I don’t know why exactly. It’s probably because I love haircare.

I was hoping that I would love this shampoo. It’s fairly inexpensive, and it is from Spain! Sounds exciting, right? Well, it isn’t as great as it seems. It isn’t a bad shampoo, but the major issue I have with it is that it doesn’t really lather up very much. I’ve heard mixed things about the benefits and non-benefits of lathering. However, I prefer having a shampoo that results in lots of foam. I find it is easier to work into my hair. As far as scent, it’s good. The peppermint scent isn’t too strong, which is good for me. As far as actual shampoo, it’s good. I don’t notice anything special happening with my hair, but it doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it greasy.

So, overall, I find this to be a pretty average shampoo, which makes sense considering the price. I’m not sure if you can purchase it anywhere other than the Birchbox website.

Have you tried any new shampoos lately? What are they/do you like them?

I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.

  1. It took me a while to get use to non-lathering shampoos. At this point I feel my hair is much softer with the non-lather but I still have to use a water & sulfate-based shampoo at least once per week to feel like it’s really clean. I forget which brand it was that has the “lower sulfates” rather than none but I should try that maybe.

New shampoo I tried: Well, new to me. J.R Watkins Aloe & Green Tea shampoo. No lather but I like it even though it feels like I slopped syrup on my head during the wash. Smells really nice!
