Finally, it’s time for my March 2014 Birchbox post. For some reason, my Birchbox shipped from Tennessee, which was a major disappointment for me. When it shipped from NJ in the past, I got it SO quickly. Instead, it took a very long time to arrive (and when it did, I was at home). I eventually picked it up on Friday. Anyway, let’s get on to it, shall we?
This month was so much better than last. If you remember, I was really grumpy about the products I got as well as with the value that the box amounted to. However, this month was a million times better (at least in terms of the samples I received. The value is still low, but the samples are so good that I don’t mind).
First up, I got the Michael Todd True Organics Tropical Fruit Enzyme Exfoliant Scrub. I’m pretty excited about this. I have been trying this scrub from Origins, and while I like it, it is pretty expensive, so I probably won’t end up buying the full size. Michael Todd is significantly cheaper, so if this works, I’ll be giving it a go. I wouldn’t have purchased this myself because of the amount of advertising they did on YouTube. I was so sick of seeing the name everywhere that I couldn’t allow myself to buy it. I’m glad I got it as a sample, though. The value of this sample is $6.88. A pretty good value! I’m happy with this.
Next up is the Keims Peppermint and Macadamia Shampoo. I have used this once already, and I can’t say I’m terribly impressed. I was very excited to try this new-to-me brand (from Spain!) but I found that the shampoo didn’t lather enough for my tastes. I’ll keep using it to see if my opinion changes, but that’s how I feel for now. I do really like the sample, and the value is $1.90.
This is the Birchbox Finds for the month. It’s the Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream. I am excited to try this. This lotion is supposed to help even skintone, and my upper arms could use it. They are pretty red and the skintone is definitely uneven. I’ll keep you posted. The value of this product (I used the Walmart site to get the full-size price and size) is $1.60.
Woohoo, a makeup item. I have received a sunscreen from Coola before, and I really liked it. This is the Mineral Sunscreen BB Cream. There isn’t very much in the tube, but I am excited to try it out. Hopefully it works out well for me. 🙂 I’ll keep you posted. The value of this sample is $3.60, which I’m happy with.
I’m very excited about this sample as well (please forgive the blurry picture, though). It’s a blush sample from theBalm’s How ‘Bout Them Apples palette. You can use this as a cheek or lip stain, but I tend to use these things as blush only. I got the color Pie, and it is a beautiful corally pink. I cannot wait to give this a try!! The sample didn’t have any size on it, so I guessed using other samples from theBalm. The value, if my estimates are relatively accurate, is around $1.60.
So, if you’ve been keeping track, the box total is $15.58. That isn’t very high, but as I said at the beginning of my post, I’m very happy with the samples I received. I have no complaints about this month, and I hope that I get to keep having such good months. Last month was definitely frightening for me, but there is hope!
Did you get a Birchbox this month? What did you get? Let me know below!
I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
