What’s up everyone? Can you believe it is already the 21st of January? Time flies when you are having fun, huh? Anyway, I want to talk about a mascara sample I got from my Sephora haul. It’s the Clinique High Impact Waterproof mascara. I’m going to give you a review and show you how it looks on my eyes.
So let’s dive on in to the review. In terms of application, it’s good. It is definitely not my favorite, but I don’t hate it by any means.
This is what the brush looks like. Honestly, it is pretty standard in terms of mascara wands go. The bristles aren’t so tightly packed that they separate each lash, but they aren’t too far apart either. It’s average, I’d say.
Here is what it looks like on. As you can see, my eyelashes before look pretty short (they are actually long but the ends are very, very blonde) but volumized. After applying the mascara, my lashes look good, but there isn’t a lot of volume. The look really long. In fact, you can see that one lash is cock-eyed because it is rubbing against my browbone. I’m definitely not complaining about the added length, but I wish it gave me more volume. Also, if you look under my eyes in the after photo, you can see that there are little black flakes that weren’t there before. They brush away fairly easily, but it is a little annoying nonetheless.
PS- Can I tell you hard it is to get a good picture of your eye. Thank goodness nobody else was around because they would have been like wtf? Hahahahaha. I was talking to myself and commenting on the pictures as I took them. I’m nuts.
As far as removal goes, it comes off well with soap and water. My Caudalie Cleansing Water removes the majority of it, but not all. If I use that and then wash my face, I don’t have any issues whatsoever.
So there we go. I don’t think I’ll purchase this mascara, because I prefer my lashes to have more volume. I hope this post was helpful for you, though. If you have any questions, please let me know. Also, please let me know if the pictures of my eye are helpful. Like I said, I felt really weird taking them, but it is all for the benefit of the blog! 😉
This was a free sample in an order from Sephora (that I paid for with my own money). All opinions are my own. I am not getting paid for this post.
