The lovely Ginger Loves Make-Up tagged me in the Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty. I’m going to answer all the questions in terms of makeup. I could also answer the questions in terms of skincare, but I think makeup is way more fun! 🙂
Greed: What’s your most expensive beauty item?
Retail value speaking, that would be my Stila In The Light Palette. It retails for $39.00, but I was able to get it for next to nothing because of the Birchbox points that I redeemed on the order. Otherwise, I don’t really purchase too much high-end makeup. I’m starting to get more into it, but I truly believe that there are drugstore items that are just as wonderful as high-end.
Wrath: What item do you have a strong love/hate relationship with?
That would be my Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation. I purchased it last year because I wanted something for an internship/job shadowing thing I was doing. I love the color; it matches me perfectly. And I LOVE that it doesn’t make me extra oily. However, I hate that it clings to dry spots and it can end up looking a little bit cakey throughout the day, so I don’t wear it as often. I love and I hate it. I’m actually wearing it today… and by the end of the day, I’ll probably say that it looks bad. Oh well. I will use it up because I paid good money for it, but I probably won’t purchase it again. 🙂
Gluttony: What brand takes up most of your collection?
Number wise, Stila (well… not technically. I have an eyeliner set and a lip glaze set coming this week). But bulk-wise, it would be Revlon. The foundation I mentioned above is quite bulky, and I have a ton of lip butters, which take up more room than a Stila Lip Glaze. However, I must say that nearly everything I own from Revlon is a lip product. What can I say? I’m addicted. 🙂
Sloth: What product do you ignore the most due to laziness?
Foundation. I usually don’t wear it, because you have to apply it and then blend it and then set it and then add blush since the natural blush is covered up… too much work. Usually I slap on some eyeshadow, mascara, sometimes eyeliner, and some lipstick and that’s it.
Pride: Which product gives you the most confidence?
Mascara. I love my lashes. They are pretty full and very long, but mascara makes them fuller and coats the blonde ends so that everyone can see how long my lashes really are. I feel really great when I have nice, full lashes.
Lust: What item is at the top of your list?
The NARS creamy concealer. I have seen so many people talk about this concealer, and as someone who struggles with dark circles, I would love to see if it is actually as good as they say. I’m hesitant because of the price. That’s a lot of money to spend on a concealer. I wish Birchbox would team up with NARS so that I could use points to get some stuff. 😉
Envy: Which makeup product/look looks great on others but not on you?
BRONZER! It might be that I just suck at contouring, but I can never make it look right. I think it makes me look dirty. I am still experimenting, though, so all hope is not yet lost. If you had asked me before I lived in the UK and experimented with Sleek blushes, I would have said blush. But now, I feel like I can get it to look nice on me. So maybe I just need some practice!
Well, there you have it. The Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty tag. If you want to do this, please do so! I would love to see your answers. 😀
I am not getting paid for this post. I purchased all products mentioned with my own money.
