January 2014 Birchbox with Photos

Hey everyone! I got my Birchbox and it is wonderful! I love this box; it’s a great start to the new year! I also upgraded from a monthly subscription to an annual one. That means I’ve already paid for 12 boxes (including this one). I’m so excited to continue with Birchbox. 🙂

Without further ado….

Look at how full the box looks! Always a good sign.

This is what I was most excited to get it. I have fallen in love with dry shampoo, so I’m very excited to have the chance to dry the Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk. It is a really substantial sample, and I can’t wait to try it out. Look for a review coming within the next month. The value of this sample comes in at around $6.46!

I got a full size product! Its from Rock Cosmetics and it’s the Nail Rock system. I got the red glitter version. It is very pretty, and I will definitely try it out. I wish I had received the caviar system, but I’m happy with this. You can’t have too much red nail polish, right? The base polish is really pretty (It’s nothing I don’t have but I’ll test out the formula and let you know). It will be a while before I test this out, because I’ve been doing some semi-professional work and red glitter isn’t really appropriate. 😛 The value of this is $7.00.

Next up is a body creme. I love body cremes! I have to say that I’m not impressed with the packaging this came in, but I purchased a bunch of little jars from the Walmart travel section so I can depot samples like these. I should probably tell you what it is. It is the Juara Candlenut Body Creme. The full size packaging looks quite fancy, so I have high hopes for this sample. This is valued at $0.79, but I think there is enough product to see if I like it or not.

Yay! Makeup products! I got the 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara. I have to say that I’m intrigued by an all natural mascara. I believe this is tinted with black tea. Interesting, huh? I can’t wait to use it, but I currently have a bunch of mascaras to test out. I’m currently testing a Clinique mascara. Hopefully the review will be up next week. But anyway, I’m very excited about this sample! The value is $7.50!

Finally, I received some tea as a lifestyle extra. Just like the Nail Rock, this comes from London. Sigh… I miss England (side note: I’m thinking of doing a post about my travels with pictures included. Would you be interested?). Anyway I got the Ahmad tea in Apricot Sunrise, Lemon Vitality, and English Tea No. 1. I’m excited to try the Apricot tea. Yesterday, I was feeling sick. I had a weird upset stomach (thankfully it didn’t turn out to be the stomach flu and I felt better by the afternoon) so I decided to drink some Honey Chamomile tea instead. Maybe I’ll try it today. The value is about $0.53.

The total value of the box is $22.28! That’s a really solid value, and I think I got some really solid products. I’m pretty pumped actually, and I’m excited to try everything. I am legitimately going to use everything, which is wonderful. Sometimes, I get samples, and I just put them in my “sample box” and forget about, especially if they are foils or cardboards. But I will definitely try everything! So excited!

Birchbox is a sample service where you 4-6 samples sent to your door for $10 a month or you can pay $110 for the annual service (I was actually sent an upgrade code, and managed to get it for $99). You receive points for every purchase and every review (only of products you receive samples of, not products you buy). You can use these points to save money on your full size purchases. If you are interested in signing up, here is my link: click me!

What did you get in your Birchbox this month?

I bought this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post. The link to sign up for Birchbox is my referral link. If you sign up using that link, I receive 50 points.

  1. Yes, please post about your time across the pond! I’d love to read about it and see pics! I received the Ahmad teas in a previous box and they were wonderful! And your idea about emptying the foil pack into a travel container is BRILLIANT! I never thought to do that! I received a couple foil packets in my Birchbox too, and now I will be putting them into travel containers! Thanks!

Awesome! I now have a project for tonight! I’m excited to share it with you! 😀
Thank you! I have to say that it wasn’t my idea. I got the idea from a makeup forum called MakeupTalk. I saw some girls posting about that and thought it was smart.
