Serge Normant Meta Revive Volumizing Dry Shampoo Review

Happy Friday guys!! I’m not sure what to do with myself. It’s something like 40 degrees outside… which is a definite improvement from the -15 we had earlier this week. It’s so warm!! Hahaha 😉

Anyway, today let’s chat about a dry shampoo. I received this Serge Normant Meta Revive Volumizing Dry Shampoo in a Birchbox semi-recently. I honestly can’t remember what month it was but I remember thinking that I’ll never use it since I don’t use dry shampoo. Well, I’m a convert. I love using them for added volume when styling my hair, and since this promises to be volumizing, I figured it must be good.

Well, I don’t love this product as much as I thought I would. The volumizing quality is definitely there! I spray it in my hair, and I am consistently really impressed with the amount of volume there was at my roots. It doesn’t disappoint on that front.

However, it isn’t very good in other aspects. First of all, it makes my roots feel dirty even though I apply it on clean hair. It feels like the dry shampoo congeals. I know that that is a weird description, but I can’t think of another way to describe how it makes my roots feel. It’s not a pleasant feeling, but if you don’t run your fingers through your hair, you won’t really notice it. I’m assuming that this weird feeling helps the hair to be volumized.

As far as keeping the hair grease-free, I don’t think it does a very good job. It doesn’t do a bad job, but my hair seems to be less greasy if I don’t use any product than when I use this. I have blunt bangs, and they tend to get a little greasy throughout the day, and this certainly doesn’t help.

The smell is okay. It isn’t my favorite, but it isn’t so overpowering that it is annoying. I don’t even know how to explain it. It smells like hairspray kind of, but a little warmer (???). I’m sure that description is less than helpful, but it is a very unique scent.

Overall, I would have to say that I don’t recommend this product. It isn’t bad, but it doesn’t meet my needs, so I don’t feel comfortable encouraging others to purchase it.

I purchased this myself. All opinions are my own. I am not getting paid for this post.

  1. When I was reading this I almost felt like I was reading a review I had written on this because I totally agree with you! I love dry shampoo for adding volume, and just some oopmf to my hair but this one wasn’t the greatest. My favorite that I’ve tried is Treseme, though I really want to try Batiste because I hear that is the best one to get.

I’m glad you feel the same way. 🙂 I have never tried the Tresemme. I love the Batiste. I think I might prefer the one from KMS California but it is a close call. 🙂

I personally am in love with the pro naturals hair repair shampoo and conditioner, it has repaired my damaged hair so much it’s amazing!

yes, that’s the name of the brand. It is not cheap but trust me when I say it is totally worth it!
