Ins & Outs | December 11, 2013

I feel like it has been too long since I’ve done a basic Ins and Outs post. This one is pretty much going to be centered on today (er…. yesterday. It may or may not be 1am). 😀

Ins:
1. Eton Mess
OMG. Such a delicious English dessert. It is a cream cake with white chocolate and raspberries and it was divine!!

2. Chips!
And I mean British chips… not crisps. I had some tonight for dinner and they were soooooooooo delicious. Very greasy though.

3. Christmas Crackers and Crowns
I also discovered Christmas Crackers tonight. Inside was a crown which I may or may not have worn until I got back to my flat. 🙂 I’m not even embarrassed. I love it! In my cracker, I got mini screwdrivers. I think these need to make an appearance in a blog post soon. They are so adorable and hilarious.

4. Talking about plays
Today during class, I got to talk about two shows I saw recently: Henry V starring Jude Law and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night. I kind of have a major crush on Jude Law now after seeing him as Henry. I wish I would have been able to see a bit more of “Hal” from Henry IV in King Henry’s character at the beginning of the show (it seemed like he jumped into politics too suddenly), but it makes sense when one thinks about this as a standalone show and not part of Shakespeare’s second tetralogy. The latter play I mentioned was super depressing until the end and then I wanted to cry. It definitely wasn’t my favorite that I’ve seen. The actors were phenomenal but I just didn’t love the plotline. I don’t like sad things. However, I love getting the opportunity to discuss plays, so I was very happy today.

5. Jude Law
You know, Jude Law just needs to have his own category. The scene when he was wooing Kate = <3333333333

6. Not cooking dinner
I’m so tired of cooking for myself, so I was happy to go out tonight.

7. The fig body butter I applied last night
It’s from Laura Mercier, and I got it in my Birchbox. I need to do a blog post on it. I could smell it all day, and I kind of really like it. I love how moisturized it makes my arms, and I love that the scent lasts so long. Hopefully, I’ll get a few review up soon. I have some other products I want to talk about first, though.

8. Bloguary
I’m slyly throwing this into the middle of this post. If you were with me last year (and not many people were), I did this thing called Bloguary where I put up a post every single day in January. I really loved it, and even though I ended up falling behind, it was so great for my blog. My blog grew so much over the month, and I just loved sharing my opinions. I’ve already planned out some of the things I want to talk about. I’m just so darn excited!! Let me know if there is anything in particular that you want to see reviewed. Also, if you blog as well, feel free to join me. 😀

9. Extensions on Essays
Sometimes you just need more time and when the professor recognizes that, it is so lovely. Everyone in my class was so excited!

Outs:
1. The fact that my time in England is almost over
I’ve grown incredibly attached and I don’t really want to leave. Of course, it will be nice to go home for the holidays, but I really love it here and will miss it terribly.

2. Paying for train tickets
I’m super excited because I’m going on one final trip before I leave England and I bought my train ticket today. Why can’t transportation be freeeeeeeeeee? 😥 Okay, I’ll stop complaining.

3. Fish
As much as I love chips, I just don’t like fish. Not even from legitimate Fish & Chips shops. I tried though.

4. My final essay
Well…. not exactly my FINAL final essay, but the last one I need to turn in before I leave. It is taking way too much time and I am not interested in the subject… oh well. Once it is done, I’ll never have to write in the subject again!

5. Worrying about Next Semester
I already picked out my classes, but I have been worrying about the people in them. I always tend to worry about coming across as stupid… which is stupid. I don’t want to be judged, though, especially by people I know. I know that it is dumb to worry about those things, but you know, people aren’t always rational.

So yeah… that just about covers my day. I hope you had a lovely one. I need to go to bed now. I’m clearly not getting anything accomplished regarding my essay, so the best bet is probably sleep.

I am not getting paid for this post.
