Today, I need to rave about a product I purchased from Amazon UK. I never thought I would be so excited by a hairbrush, but this is actually fantastic. This is the Tangle Teezer which I don’t think is available in the States (if it is, I have never seen it).
This brush, according to the packaging, “can be used on wet and dry hair without any pulling or yanking.” I remember when these were being raved about on YouTube, but I never believed that they were actually any good. Boy was I wrong. This brush combs through my hair so effortlessly. My hair gets pretty tangley, especially because of the windy weather here, and this brush just glides on through, clearing up the tangles as it goes. I don’t have to fight with it either! You do have to pull a little bit, but I think that that is inevitable. It’s not like the way I have to pull with a usual brush. I absolutely love this brush and cannot stress enough how wonderful it is.
The actual design of the brush is a little strange. It doesn’t have a handle like a typical brush, so I was a bit unsure of how I would like that. I actually find that it is really enjoyable. For some reason, it makes me feel a lot more professional to have a brush like this. The brush is easy to hold; the way it is designed allows it to fit comfortably in my hand. It isn’t too big or too small. I also find the weight to be perfect. It is made from a really light plastic and it seems to be hollow inside. I really like lightweight brushes. I’m not sure if that actually changes the way a brush performs, but it is my personal preference.
The design of the bristles is quite cool. There is a slight curve to the base of the brush so it is ideal for brushing at the roots and ends (the bristles themselves are straight). There are also two lengths of bristles: long and short. They alternate in rows (a row of short, a row of long, etc.) and are pretty close together. I’m not an expert on material by any means, but I believe that it is a lightweight, flexible plastic that makes up these bristles. These are definitely why the brush is so awesome!
The only regret I have is that I picked up the fluorescent orange and yellow one. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love these two colors (yellow is my favorite color), but the yellow bottom and bristles shows all the dust and hair that collects in the brush. I feel like I couldn’t leave this sitting out on my dresser.
The price I paid for this was 8.49 GBP, but the prices vary daily and by color on Amazon. In Boots, it is more expensive (I believe around 12 GBP). Either way, that is a significant amount of money to pay for a hairbrush, but I truly believe that it is worth it. I am in love with this brush!
Overall, I love this brush. It is easily the best brush I have ever used! It brushes out tangles like a dream, and the design is really great. If you have the opportunity to get this, I suggest that you do. I feel weird about raving about a brush, but it is just that good!
