Bleh. I have been putting off this review for a long time. However, the point of this blog is to talk about the things I like and the things I don’t like, so here we go. Today I’m talking about the Julep Quick Dry Polish Drops that I received in a Julep Maven Box I purchased…. a while ago (no idea when).
Anyway, I should start out by letting you know that I don’t really care for this product. I think that it had great potential, but it just doesn’t work out for me. You are supposed to apply one to two drops per nail after your last coat of polish has dried for about a minute. Obviously, your polish isn’t dry, but these drops are supposed to expedite the process. And they do… kind of. The polish does dry to the touch, meaning you won’t wipe off your polish onto unsuspecting persons or objects. On the contrary, the polish doesn’t actually dry any quicker in the case of pressure. You still cannot touch your nails to anything too hard. Otherwise, you’ll be left with an indentation. I have found that they don’t do anything in terms of actually drying the nails completely solid.
The packaging of this product is great. I have no issues with the little dropper it comes with. It is very easy to apply the drops to my nails.
Finally, I cannot stand the smell of these things. It is way too strong, as if they tried too hard to cover up the nail polish remover type scent that it has. I don’t like the smell, and I can’t imagine that anyone would enjoy it.
In sum, I don’t think I would repurchase this product. While it has potential uses, I highly recommend a quick dry top coat. Julep makes a great one that I reviewed here. It actually helps to dry your nails to a solid state. In my opinion, it is leaps and bounds better than this product.
Have you tried these drops? What is your favorite way to have your nail polish dry more quickly?
I purchased this myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
