NOTD: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow

Hey guys! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful and spectacular weekend. This weekend I’ll be talking about Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in the color Mellow Yellow, a polish I bought a year ago.

The was the second yellow polish I ever bought. The first looked bad against my skin tone, but I wanted to give it one more chance. I actually like this color. It is light enough that it looks intentional and not like stained nails. 😛 However, be aware that the color that appears on your nails is slightly darker than what appears in the bottle.

Anyway. If you watch my Youtube Channel, you would know that I love this polish formula. In general, you can’t go wrong with it. As far as this particular color, I found that I needed three coats to get rid of the streaks and to get a fully opaque finish. It dried glossy, and dry time was about average. Wear time (with a top coat) was great. I didn’t experience any major chips until 4 days into it, which is good for me. 🙂

I know that recently I have been looking for polishes that are free of the major chemicals with a bad reputation. These would be: formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde resin, camphor, and toulene. According to drugstore.com’s page, these polishes have formaldehyde resin and camphor. I will continue to use the polishes I have, but will not be repurchasing this polish or buying any more from this line (even though I LOVE the formula).

Overall, I like the polish, and if you aren’t worried about the chemicals in it, I would recommend it!

I am not affiliated with Sally Hansen or drugstore.com. The Youtube link is to my own channel. I’m not being paid for this post. I purchased the polish myself. All opinions are my own.
