January 2013 Birchbox (with photos)

Hey guys! Can you believe that we are already more than a week into Bloguary/January/2013?!? Unbelievable! To celebrate, I’ll be showing you what I got in the month’s Birchbox.

For those of you that don’t know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription where you receive 4-5 beauty samples (plus lifestyle or beauty extras) for $10. You then fill out feedback forms for each product, receiving 10 Birchbox points for each review. For every 100 points, you get $10 to spend in the Birchbox store which carries samples from all the box variations! Sound interesting? Sign up here.

Now, let’s check out what I got, shall we? 🙂

The first thing I noticed about the box is that there was this pillow pack (or whatever they call it :D). It is absolutely adorable! Inside this packet, there were two products.

The first one is a blush by TheBalm. The packaging says that you can also use this as an eyeshadow, but I like it as a blush. Hot Mama is a beautiful, shimmery peach color. The shimmer isn’t too overwhelming but it is definitely noticeable. I’m so excited for this, as I have never owned a blush before! I know. Crazy.

The other product in the packet is this Aerie eau de toilette in Shimmer. The notes, according to the foil package it was wrapped in, are bergamot, peony, and vanilla. When I first applied it to my skin, I thought it smelled too much like a boy, probably because of the bergamot. I’ve it on now for about an hour and a half and it dried down to a much more vanilla-y scent. I think I will like this. I’m going to wear it a few more times before I let you all know for sure.

The next thing in the box is this Embryolisse Lait-Crème ConcentrĂ© or Concentrated Milk Cream. This is a pretty good size sample, and I’m looking forward to using it. I’m pretty sure that a lot of people love this brand and this product. This product is paraben-free and suitable for all skin types, according to the package.

The last of my regular products is this clarifying shampoo from Number 4. This is a really good size, and I’ll definitely let you guys know what I think.

Instead of a Lifestyle Extra, I got a Beauty Extra (like I did last month). This is the Deborah Lippmann The Stripper to Go. It is a nail polish “mitt” that will remove polish from all ten of your nails with just one pad. I’m so excited to try this. It seems like a good idea, and I’ll let you all know if it stands up to its promise.

Okay, so those are the products that came in my January Birchbox. I’m sure you are all tired of reading now, so I’ll just say “talk to you tomorrow.” Talk to you tomorrow!! 🙂

we got the same box! I know I will use the stripper to go mitts. I sometimes find myself wanting to apply/remove nail polish in inappropriate places, ha!

Hahaha! That’s cool that we got the same box. Have you tried anything yet? I think I’m going to try out the stripper to go mitts today.
